RECENT WORK
My recent work is a look back at the basics of drawing from direct observation. Drawing in the landscape for the sheer pleasure of being in that environment. This has led to a number of
sketches and observations of the landscape and the found object.
PAGES FROM MY SKETCH BOOK
The following sketches are a small sample of the work I have been doing recently.
FINISHED PIECES
The following pieces, "THE SECRETGARDEN" was painted en
plein air, painted in the garden from direct observation on a rare week of
glorious weather. "CLAY PIPES AND MARMALADE" and "LOST and FOUND" are
painted from pottery pieces found when digging in "THE LONG GARDEN" The
piece "ROAD TO KNOCK" and pieces "15/012/012", "21/01/2012", "23/01/2012"
are all studies from the original sketches and executed in oil and beeswax.
